Death Investigation

 

On April 24, 2016 at approximately 7:02 a.m., Deputy Jeremy McBride was dispatched to 3405 West Avenue B in reference to a gunshot victim.

 

Upon arrival, he made contact with May Nicole McClure who stated that she walked outside and Robert Sam Mc Kamie was sitting in her car with a gun to his head. May stated that she opened up the passenger side door, and asked Robert what he was doing. May stated that Robert stepped out of the car and shot himself.

 

May stated that earlier in the morning around 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. Robert had shot the gun off a few times. May stated that Robert had hit her with the butt of the gun twice and head butted her. May stated that Robert also took her cell phone when they were arguing. May stated that when Robert went to the bathroom, she ran and hid under Robert’s roommate’s bed. May stated that the roommate is had not been there since April, 23, 2016.    

    

A neighbor stated that she was woke up by someone shooting a gun early this morning, but did not know the exact time. The neighbor stated that she was getting up and around this morning when May came over to her residence and asked her to call 911.

 

Pafford Emergency Medical Services attempted to locate and determine any sign of life, but was unable to do so. Coroner Ben Brazzell arrived on scene and pronounced Mr. Mc Kamie deceased at 7:30 a.m. on April 24, 2016. Mr. McKamie’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to be examined by the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine Cause and Manner of Death. The Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office investigation is ongoing into Mr. Mc Kamie’s death and are awaiting the results of the Medical Examiner’s Report.
