 SCAM ALERT

 

The sheriff’s Office has received several calls over the past few days about citizens getting a phone call from the IRS telling them they owe back taxes. And if they don’t pay those taxes today by credit card then the Sheriff will come to their house and arrest them.

 

There is no truth to this it is an attempt to steal your ID or money please do not fall prey to this scam. Do not give any personal information to anyone over the phone. If you receive a call like this just hang up, and call your local law enforcement agency.
