Press Release

Suspect arrested for Possession with intent to Deliver Methamphetamine in Court after Bond Revoked

On 09/11/17 at approximately 1710 hours during court, Judge Duncan Culpepper revoked Curtis Arrington's bond. Deputy Michael Braddock took Curtis into custody and then searched his person.

While searching Curtis, Deputy Braddock located a Newport cigarette box in his right front pants pocket. When Deputy Braddock opened the box, observed a clear baggie with a straightened paper clip, with one end of the paper clip twisted around the baggie. Inside the bag he observed several small baggies containing a clear crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine, and one small clear baggie containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana.

The Newport cigarette pack contained nine small clear baggies of suspected methamphetamine, and one small bag that was suspected marijuana. Deputy Braddock weighed the nine baggies and its contents of methamphetamine on an uncalibrated set of digital scales, and the weight showed 5.7 grams. Deputy Braddock weighed the one small baggie and its contents of marijuana on an uncalibrated set of digital scales, and the weight showed 0.2 grams.

Deputy Braddock walked Curtis over to the Hempstead County Detention Center, where he was charged with possession with purpose to deliver methamphetamine. Arrington is detained at the HCDF awaiting a first court appearance.
