Theft of property, carrying a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Sunday, October 8, 2017 at approximately 0100 hours, Deputy Reyn Brown received a call from Sgt. Oller with the Hope Police Department in reference to him seeing a subject, Aaran Daniel's, who had a felony warrant from the Hempstead County Sheriff's office Sgt. Oller advised he was making contact with Aaran at 706 E. Short 6th Street, in Hope, Arkansas.

Deputy Brown arrived shortly after Sgt. Oller made contact with Aaran. Deputy Brown confirmed the active warrant and Aaran was placed under arrest for a felony theft of property warrant. After placing Aaran in hand restraints, Deputy Brown began to search his person for weapons and contraband. In his left pants pocket Deputy Brown located a clear bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana.

Sgt. Oller walked over to the driver's side window of Aaran's vehicle and observed a handgun sticking out from under the driver's seat. Sgt. Oller knew Aaran was only 18 years old as well. Sgt. Oller immediately took possession of the weapon. The handgun was a SCCY CPX2TTSB 9MM pistol with a stainless-steel slide and turquoise colored frame. The handgun had 14 unspent 9MM rounds inside the magazine and one unspent round inside the chamber and ready to fire. Once the handgun was safe, Sgt. Oller had the police dispatcher conduct a query on the handgun and it revealed that the handgun was stolen. During a search of the vehicle, Sgt. Oller located a pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana. Deputies determined that the handgun was stolen from a burglary on Hempstead 15 on September 22, 2017.

Aaran asked if he could go inside the residence and turn the stove off, because the girl he was staying with left some food cooking for him. Deputy Brown took Aaran inside the residence and the stove was not on and nothing was cooking. While walking back toward the door, Deputy Brown observed a black digital scale sitting on a small table with what appeared to be marijuana residue on it. Aaran stated it was his for personal use. The scale was confiscated at that time.

Aaran was transported to the HCDF where he was charged with theft of property, carrying a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was turned over to the on-duty jail staff for booking. He will be held for 1st court appearance.
