Recovery of Stolen Vehicle

 

On December 29, 2017 at approximately 1127 hours, Deputy Malone was patrolling the area of Highway 371 East and Oak Street in Blevins, Arkansas. Deputy Malone was searching for a vehicle that was reported stolen from Hope, Arkansas. The vehicle reported stolen was a 2003 white Toyota Tundra bearing Arkansas license plate number 250RJX. Officer Charlie Featherston of the Hope Police Department advised that Braydon Whitney was the suspect in the case.

 

While patrolling the area Deputy Malone observed a white Toyota Tundra backed into the yard at 110 Oak Street. Deputy Malone observed that there were two white male occupants in the vehicle. Malone made contact with them and confirmed that the vehicle was the vehicle that was reported stolen.

 

Deputy Malone made contact with the male occupant sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Malone then identified that male occupant as Braydon Whitney. Deputy Malone detained Braydon, and identified the other male occupant seated in the passenger seat, who lives at that residence.

 

Deputy Malone was then informed by Sergeant Casey Singleton of the Hope Police Department to take Braydon into custody. Upon searching incident to arrest Deputy Malone located the key to the vehicle in Braydon's left front pants pocket. Deputy Malone took possession of the key.

 

Deputy Malone made contact with the owner of the vehicle and advised him of where his vehicle was located. Sergeant Singleton advised that the vehicle could be released to the

 

Deputy Malone transported Braydon Whitney to the Hempstead County Detention Center, and released him to the on-duty jail staff.
