Battery 3rd Degree

At approximately 2128 hours on January 15, 2018 Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 44 Bass Street in reference to a battery.

Upon arrival he made contact with Destiny and Nathan Hurt. Destiny, who is approximately seven months pregnant, stated that Nathan's friend, Johnathon Young, had come over to the house and he and Nathan had been drinking by the fire.

She stated that she went outside to get Nathan when Johnathon started called her names. She stated that Nathan told Johnathon to stop but when he didn't Nathan and Johnathon began fighting. She stated that Johnathon knocked Nathan onto the ground and started getting in her face. She stated that she felt a pain on her right arm and said "something sharp just hit me". She stated that she never saw a knife or weapon and Johnathon never hit her. She stated that Nathan then got back up and hit Johnathon again. She stated that Johnathon got away from Nathan at this point and left. Deputy Sorensen observed a small puncture wound on Destiny's right forearm.

Sergeant Jim Bush then arrived and advised me that he spoke with Johnathon. He stated that Johnathon claimed that Nathan had pulled a knife on him and stabbed him. Sergeant Bush also noticed that Johnathon had a puncture wound on the left side of his abdomen.

Deputy Sorensen placed Nathan under arrest for Battery 3rd Degree, Sergeant Bush transported Nathan to the Hempstead County Detention Center for booking.

Jonathon stated that Nathan then punched him in the face. He stated that Nathan then pulled out a knife out. He stated that he attempted to block him but Nathans arm went under his arm and he felt a burning on the left side of his abdomen. He stated that as soon as he realized he had been stabbed he left and walked back home.

Pafford EMS arrived on scene and transported Johnathon to the emergency room.
