UASF Bomb Squad Detonates WWI Ordnance

 

On July 16, 2015 at approximately 1130 hours the Sheriff’s office received a call in reference to a live mortar round found on the caller’s property on county 42 in the Ozan area

 

Upon arrival Deputy Francisco contacted the caller who stated that he was going to clear the timber off his land that     he dug up a mortar round from the ground. The Caller stated that on July 14th he found a mortar round in the area he was working and believed the mortar round to be live and could detonate. 

 

Deputy Francisco made contact with the Office of Emergency Management who contacted the Little Rock Air Force Base EOD unit.

 

At approximately 4:30 P.M. The UASF Bomb squad arrived at the location and detonated the mortar round.
