Fire

At approximately 2000 hours on 05/12/18, HCSO was dispatched to Interstate 30 Mile Marker 31 West bound in reference to a vehicle fire.

Upon my arrival there appeared to be burning oil and plastic dropping out under the engine of a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Deputy made contact with the driver who stated that she was heading west bound on I-30 with her cruise control set. She stated that the vehicle began to slow down so she turned the cruise control off and attempted to accelerate but the vehicle wouldn't. She stated that she then pulled onto the shoulder of the interstate and someone stopped and told her that her vehicle was on fire. She stated that she then got out and noticed that there was something burning under the hood. Hope Fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.
