Man Reports Robbery Gets Arrested for Felony FTA

On Friday January 25,2019 at 0725 A.M. H.C.S.O. Deputies responded to a report of a robbery at 2105 W. 3RD St., Hope Livestock Auction.

Upon arrival deputies made contact with Roman McVey who stated the he had been robbed. Roman appeared to be short of breath, he was very unsteady as he stood and walked, and his speech was slurred and difficult to understand.

Roman said that he was robbed of $300, by a suspect that he described as, a black male, approximately 5'6" to 5'7" and about 140 to 150 pounds. Roman said the suspect was wearing a black jacket with a hood and tan pants. Roman said that the suspect jumped on him, when he walked into the office area.

Roman later said that he was asleep in the office area when he was robbed, and the suspect told him to go into the bathroom. Roman said the he refused and the suspect started hitting him. Roman did not have any visible marks or injuries and did not want medical treatment.

Deputies were unable to find any evidence as to the reported Robbery. During the investigation it was discovered the Roman McVey had an active Felony Failure to Appear warrant with Hempstead County.

Deputies placed Roman under arrest for the warrant, and transported him to the Hempstead County Jail. Where he is awaiting a first court appearance
