At approximately 1533 hours on December 15th, 2019 HCSO Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of Highway 174 South in reference to the discovery of possible human remains.

Upon arrival HCSO Deputies made contact with an adult female who stated that at approximately 1520 hours on December 15th, 2019 she received a call from her son advising her that he and his two friends had found skeletal remains and a firearm.

The female adult advised that she told her son not to touch anything and that she and her husband, would be there immediately. The female lead deputies to the area where the skeletal remains were discovered.

Deputies observed a human skull and what appeared to be human bones laying on the ground. The deputies secured the scene waited for Hempstead County Investigators and Arkansas State Police Investigators to arrive on scene. Hempstead County Investigators and Arkansas State Police investigators and began their investigation.

The remains will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime lab for positive Identification and manner and cause of death.
