SCAM

On 8-5-2020, a Hempstead County Citizen reported he had received a call from a Louisiana number 318-239-0850 He stated the person told him at his electric service would be shut off in twenty-five to thirty minutes and to avoid this press 1. He stated that he hung the phone up. He stated that he tried to call the number back but it was a non-working number. He stated he called his electricity provider to ask them about it.

The Citizen stated that he was advised by the electricity provider that they do not call people and tell them that and that his bill was paid and that no one was going to turn his power off.
