HCSO Deputies Investigate Theft of Property

 

On November 30, 2020 at approximately 1012 hours, HCSO Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hempstead 27 South in reference to breaking and entering.

Upon arrival they made contact with the female victim, who stated that approximately 9:30 AM, she went to her property and upon her arrival the main gate was unlocked and the lock missing. Victim stated that she and her husband were in the shop the previous night at approximately 7:30 pm and everything was in place.

Victim stated that on this date she went to the warehouse wanting to put some air in one of her vehicle tires, and noticed that her white in color Chevrolet Equinox has been vandalized. she stated that she observed the driver side window glass was broke also the glove compartment and the middle console items were thrown on the passenger seat. Victim stated that she then walked to the door of the warehouse and she saw that the door was open.

Upon Investigation, Deputies discovered damage to the Chevrolet Equinox and discovered the front door open to warehouse. Deputies discovered a safe inside the warehouse had been opened. Victim reported that approximately $5,200.00 in cash, approximately 10 boxes of 22 caliber shells, 4 boxes of 30/30 caliber shells, 4 boxes of 380 cal. Shells, along with personal papers and birth certificates inside the safe and everything were missing.

Victim stated that a small Miller Medical welder, a small yellow air compressor with wheels, a chainsaw with a pole extension were missing.

Investigation is ongoing at this time.
