Granddaughters Donate Bench in Memory of Reserve Deputy.

Rachel, Callie, and Olivia Harris of Fayetteville, Arkansas presented a metal bench to the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office in Memory of their Papaw, Reserve Deputy Olen Dorman who served The Hempstead County Sheriff's Office for 28 years as a reserve deputy before passing away January 15, 2020.

The bench, is a 6 foot metal bench with a brass plaque affixed to the back which reads "In memory of our hero Olen "BIG O" DORMAN Our Papaw who served the citizens of Hempstead County for 28 years. Placed by his Granddaughters Rachel, Callie, and Olivia Harris.

A presentation ceremony was held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 16, 2021 at the Hempstead County Law Enforcement Center. In attendance were Mrs. Deb Dorman, daughters Lori and Shelly, Granddaughters Rachel, Callie, And Olivia, Members of the Hempstead County Reserve Deputies, Full-time deputies, Sheriff and Mrs. Nancy Singleton.

The bench was placed at the front doors of the Law Enforcement Center so the public can utilize it.

The bench donation coincided with the one year anniversary of Deputy Dorman's passing. On behalf of the men and women of the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office I would like to thank Rachael, Callie and Olivia for their donation and Deputy Dorman for his dedicated service.
