The Hempstead County Sheriff's Office received the sad news of the passing of retired Detention Lt. Jerry S. Bush Age 82, yesterday January 5, 2022. We wish to extend Lt. Bush's family our deepest sympathy during this time.

Lt. Jerry Bush served Hempstead County as a reserve deputy, before being appointed as a detention officer and later promoted to Lieutenant in the Detention Center. He also served as Bailiff to the Circuit Court. Lt. Bush's wife Jan also served along side Jerry as a detention officer until her retirement.

On Behalf of the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office, we thank both Jerry and Jan for their dedicated service to the citizens of Hempstead County.

Funeral will be at 2:00 pm Sunday January 9th, at Brazzel - Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main Street Hope, Arkansas with burial to follow at the Evening Shade Cemetery.

Hempstead County Detention Officers and Deputies will serve as Pallbearers.
