On Tuesday December 5, 2023, Sheriff James Singleton presented Deputy Matthew Dunham who serves a School Resource Officer at Spring Hill with the HCSO Deputy of the Year award for 2023.

Deputy Dunham a seven-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office has served as Spring Hill School Resource Officer for the past five years. The students love and respect Deputy Dunham as evident by the welcome back to school the students held for him when he returned from the Sheriff's Office after receiving the award. (see video)
